EGAS executive managing director Eng. Mahmoud Abdel Hamid joined a meeting between Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Mr. Arthur Regan, CEO of Energies, to review ongoing cooperation in LNG import infrastructure through Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs). These units receive LNG imports and inject them into Egypt’s national gas grid, helping meet domestic demand.
The Minister commended the strong partnership, noting that Egypt established robust LNG import capabilities of 2.25 bcf/d in record time, with full adherence to safety standards and strong governmental support from Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
Mr. Regan praised the collaboration with Egypt, emphasizing that achievements over the past four months exceeded global benchmarks, crediting the Minister’s continuous field follow-up and commitment to driving progress.
EGAS reaffirmed its role in implementing this strategic project, ensuring operational efficiency and safety at all stages.
