EGAS Reviews Operational Performance at Egypt Gas and CARGAS
In line with the directives of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to ensure continuous follow-up of affiliated companies, Eng. Sayed Selim, Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), accompanied by Eng. Mohamed Khodeir, Deputy Managing Director for Planning, Gas Projects and Business Development, and Dr. Ashraf Ramadan, Assistant to the Executive Managing Director for Occupational Safety and Health, conducted a visit on Monday, 9 March 2026, to the headquarters of Egypt Gas and CARGAS. The visit aimed to review operational progress, assess performance levels, and ensure compliance with occupational safety and health systems.
During the visit, the Executive Managing Director reviewed workflow within both companies and the level of adherence to occupational safety and health procedures. He also followed up on the quality of services provided to citizens, emphasizing the importance of continuously developing work systems and enhancing operational efficiency in line with the Ministry of Petroleum’s plans to expand the use of natural gas.
Separate meetings were also held with the leadership teams of both companies, during which kPIs and achievements over the past period were reviewed. Discussions also addressed the progress of expansion plans for connecting natural gas to households, increasing the conversion of vehicles to operate on natural gas, and the ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to customers.
Eng. Sayed Selim commended the positive results achieved by both companies, stressing the importance of continuing to work with a strong team spirit and reinforcing the implementation of process safety management systems and asset integrity frameworks through continuous monitoring and the development of operational systems. These measures contribute to preventing potential incidents, such as leaks or explosions during the transportation and distribution of natural gas, while ensuring the protection of individuals, the environment, and the sustainability of safe and efficient gas supplies.
He also underscored the importance of continuing to support the state’s plans to expand the use of natural gas as a safe, environmentally friendly fuel, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and enhancing energy efficiency.
