Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Discusses Plans to Boost Gas Production and Drill New Wells with Eni

x-twitter Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with a delegation from Eni, comprising Eng. Francesco Gasparri, General Manager of Eni Egypt, and Eng. Mahmoud Abul Yazid, Deputy General Manager. The meeting was held as part of the ongoing follow-up on plans to increase natural gas production from the company’s concession areas in the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile Delta, as well as to review progress on the project to link up Cyprus’ Cronos gas field to Egypt.
The Minister also discussed with the Eni delegation the latest developments regarding the Cronos field development project, which is targeted to be connected to Egypt’s existing infrastructure. They highlighted the status of the remaining technical and contractual procedures required for the project. Badawi asserted the strong cooperation between Egypt and Cyprus in advancing the project toward the implementation phase and securing the Final Investment Decision (FID) from the partner consortium.
