The Government of Egypt is implementing a huge project for Domestic Natural Gas Connections to 1.5 Million Households in 11 Egyptian Governorates that involves extending the network and accompanying infrastructure. The project is partially funded by a loan from the World Bank and the Agence Française de Development. The Project will be implemented by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and its affiliates Town Gas, Egypt Gas, Regas and Sainai Gas.
To comply with Environmental Impact Assessment Guidelines for the oil and gas sector issued by the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) and the relevant Environmental and Social World Bank safeguard policies, An Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Framework (ESAIF), Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) and other site specific Environmental and social Impact.
