As part of ongoing field follow-ups, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Karim Badawi, paid a field visit FSRU Hoegh Galleon and Energos Eskimo at the SUMED Port in Ain Sokhna. The FSRU is currently receiving LNG shipments, converting them into natural gas, and supplying it to Egypt’s national gas grid to support domestic energy needs.
During the visit, the Minister praised the efforts of the petroleum sector teams working aboard, highlighting their dedication, professionalism, and team spirit in managing this vital operation.
His Excellency was accompanied by senior officials, including Eng. Yass Mohamed, Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS); Eng. Moataz Atef, Undersecretary for the Minister’s Office, Technical Bureau, and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry; Dr. Khaled El-Badry, Undersecretary for Projects; Eng. Osama El-Samnoudi, Vice President of EGAS for Operations and Networks; Eng. Mohamed Abdel Hafiz, Chairman of SUMED; Eng. Walid Lotfy, Chairman of Petrojet; Eng. Yasser Salah El-Din, Chairman of GASCO; Major General Hossam Nabil, Chairman of ENPPI; and the Head of the Central Administration for Petroleum Sector Security.
