Dr. Ashraf Ramadan was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1966. He received The BSc degree in Chemistry from University of Alexandria, Egypt, in 1988, Master degree in Environmental Studies from Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, Alexandria University 2014, and Ph.D. degree in Environmental Studies from Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, Alexandria University 2017.

 In 1991, he joined Egyptian Petrochemical Company, as Technology specialist, and in 2005 became a Department Head of Technology & Development, participating in the studies of the expansion project of Egyptian Petrochemicals Company. In 2007 he joined Qatar Petroleum Company as Senior Environmental Engineer, representing Qatar Petroleum in Technip (France) office for review Al-Shaheen Refinery FEED project Documents.

In 2011, he joined Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company (ECHEM) as Assistant General Manager for Environmental Studies, in 2016 became General Manager of safety and firefighting, participating in performing  and reviewing of Request of Proposal (RFP) documents and bankable feasibility and technical studies  for Mega petrochemicals projects,  following-up energy efficiency improvement of Egypt’s Oil and gas sector to reduce energy consumption and achieving energy cost saving (300 Million Egyptian Pound per Year).

 In 2018, he joined Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) as Assistant Chairman for Environment protection, developing and managing  a sustainability strategy on EGAS activities and its subsidiaries to be in line with Egypt vison 2030 and Oil and gas modernization project , participating in environmental audits and site visit of subsidiaries ,conducting a quarterly environmental meeting with Environmental managers of subsidiaries to follow up the environmental performance and share knowledge.

He is National Energy Expert of Energy management system Certified from UNIDO, Energy Management system Lead Auditor Certified from IRECA, Environmental Consultant Certified from Ministry of Environment, member in Energy efficiency program 4B of modernization and development project of petroleum sector, in Energy committee of Egyptian Organization of standardization and quality (EOS), HSE committee at ministry of petroleum

The Abstract of his PhD Thesis “A comparative study on the impacts of integrated audit on occupational Health, Safety and Environment performance” was published in Egyptian Journal for occupational medicine dated November 2016.

He is inspiring that EGAS is to become a leader and trendsetter in supporting Egypt’s National Plan for sustainable development 2030, by securing sustainable energy needs for green Economy growth while creating shared value for the community and its stakeholders
